Retraction Policy
In matters of retraction (withdrawal of articles), the editorial board of the scientific collection " Information Technology and Security " is guided by established norms:
Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 56 dated January 19, 2026 " On Amendments to the Procedure for Forming the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine "
COPE Retraction Guidelines
- Grounds for retraction
The grounds for withdrawal of an article (retraction) are gross violations by the author(s) of legal, publication and ethical norms. This procedure may be applied to published works that:
- have not properly undergone review procedures or the reviews are fake, commissioned material and violate the principle of objectivity;
- the author(s) did not consent to the republishing of the material;
- there is a conflict of interest that has been hidden or veiled;
- the authorship is incorrect (for example, the list of authors includes persons who did not participate in writing the material or conducting the research, or the authors who participated in the research and preparation of the article are not indicated);
- serious errors were found in the scientific work, which is a good reason to doubt the scientific value of the material, the research results were misinterpreted;
- fabrications and falsifications were discovered in the scientific material;
- the article was duplicated in several publications, which is a direct violation of ethical and publication standards;
- Incorrect borrowings were found in the publication, and the author(s) were caught plagiarizing
- the declaration regarding generative artificial intelligence in the publication is not true (unspecified or reduced contribution of AI).
- Initiating the procedure
The retraction procedure can be initiated:
- by the editorial board of the scientific collection " Information Technology and Security ", which sends a reasoned request to the editorial board of another publication that published a duplicate of the material;
- the editor-in-chief, who submits a reasoned submission justifying the reasons for the withdrawal of the scientific article;
- authors of the material who have written a motivational letter addressed to the editor-in-chief of the scientific collection;
- participants in a conflict of interest and other entities that submit evidence of violations of professional, legal and publication ethics.
The editorial board of the scientific collection " Information Technology and Security " requires reasoning, justification, and provision of evidence for each claim.
- Investigation
The editorial board conducts an impartial investigation in compliance with the principles of publication ethics and COPE recommendations . If necessary, explanations are requested from the authors and relevant institutions.
- Decision making
The decision on retraction is made by the editor-in-chief in consultation with the editorial board of the scientific collection " Information Technology and Security " based on the results of the investigation.
- Publication of retraction
In the event of a retraction, an official notice of retraction will be published, stating the reasons. The original text of the article will remain available in the collection archive, clearly marked “Retraction” or “Retracted” on all versions (HTML, PDF, etc.).
- Indexing and informing
Information about the retraction is transmitted to the relevant indexing and scientometric databases to ensure correct reflection of the publication status.
